My review of "Goldfinch" by Raven Kenned

 


A Four Star Read

I recently read "Goldfinch" by Raven Kennedy, and I realised I made the error of starting with book six in the series. This oversight was regrettable,  but I started the book and so I finished it. The narrative is deeply emotional and heart-wrenching; however, I found myself wishing for a bit more background information at times. This need for context is a reflection of my own approach to reading rather than a shortcoming of the author. Overall, it is a well-crafted book, and I recognise the importance of reading the first book in the series for a fuller understanding.
